I recently upgraded to gDesklets 0.30 which lost all my old configurations. Luckily there is a tool called migration-tool which converts 0.2x configuration to 0.30. It’s included with gDesklets.

$ /usr/share/gdesklets/migration-tool
$ gdesklets start

The font sizes are a bit screwed but need to change this manually.

To make gdesklet start properly for each session go to gnome menu -> Applications -> Desktop Preferences -> Advanced -> Sessions and added gdesklets start to Startup Programs at Order 51. Remove gdeskets from “Current Sessions”, save changes and relogin.
