The following packages are required to view chinese characters under Debian:

xfonts-intl-chinese xfonts-intl-chinese-big

Mozilla uses true type fonts so also need Chinese TrueType fonts by Arphic:

ttf-arphic-bkai00mp ttf-arphic-bsmi00lp ttf-arphic-gbsn00lp ttf-arphic-gkai00mp
