ssh stopped accepting the public key on my laptop and prompts me for password everytime. Initially I thought it was just a buggy upgrade but the problem persisted after further updates. network is down at boot

After updating debian ethernet pcmcia card at eth0 is down after booting. I have to reinsert the card again to bring it up. The strange thing is I can see it been successfully brought up and obtaining an IP during boot, so a later process must have brough it down. After playing aimlessly in /etc/rcS.d [...]

Hard Disk Failure

Today my laptop hard disk started making very loud clicking noises.
The unanimous opinion is it’s just the matter of time before it
dies, apparently many people has gone through the same agony.
The only question left is: can I backup the disk drive before it
retires for good?

while. As much as I like to edit in emacs I don’t like to view my html
